Nomfundo Zwane, who is based at Head Office as an Accountant, has been with AMS for two months. We are confident that she has found her feet and wish her every success in the Finance Department. Here’s a glimpse into her world …
Tell us about yourself: I am from Mpumalanga, (I am a farm girl, yes, I looked after my grandfather’s cows, goats, and chickens), and I come from a humble background that has taught me that I must work hard in order to achieve my goals in life. Since 2013, I’ve worked in accounting. I am a huge foodie, yet I don’t eat chocolate.
Why have you chosen this field? I chose this career because I enjoy working with numbers (my blood type is accounting medically).
What motivates you? My purpose is to make a difference in people’s lives; as long as they have a need, I have a role to play in changing their lives.
Why have you chosen to become part of the AMS team? I wanted to be a doctor when I was younger because I want to help people, but I didn’t like physical science. Since I like numbers, I decided to work in the health industry as an accountant.
How have you dealt with the challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic? Being unable to see people for long periods of time drove me insane, so I decided to move with the times and use technology to communicate with others.
How has the pandemic changed your outlook on life? The pandemic has taught me that each day must be lived to the fullest.
How do you unwind at the end of each day to manage workload and avoid burnout? I jog short distances and listen to music.
