The Western Cape Department of Health & Wellness EMS/AMS emergency fixed-wing aircraft provides access to specialised services for remote communities. Yesterday, the Western Cape Department of Health & Wellness EMS/AMS emergency fixed-wing aircraft conducted multiple missions day and night, transferring critical patients to specialised care in Cape Town.
A total of eight patients were transferred for the day. Seven patients were airlifted from George Regional Hospital to Groote Schuur and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital for specialised medical treatment t. Additionally, one patient was transferred from Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital to George Regional Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
