16 Jul 2026 – The South African Red Cross Air Mercy Service (AMS) was pleased to host a delegation from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) Faculty of Health and Wellness Sciences at our Cape Town base.
The visiting delegation included Prof Nicole Brooks (Dean, Faculty of Health and Wellness Sciences), Dr Lloyd Christopher (Assistant Dean, Faculty of Health and Wellness Sciences), Ms Angelique Walbrugh (Lecturer, Department of Ophthalmic Sciences), and Dr Lizel Hudson (Coordinator, Work-Integrated Learning and Language).
As AMS celebrates 60 years of service to the community, engagements like these highlight the importance of ongoing, strategic collaboration between academia and emergency aviation services. The meeting focused on shared initiatives surrounding the continuous development of paramedics and health sciences professionals, supporting work-integrated learning, and advancing patient care across the communities we serve.
Through continued partnership with institutions like CPUT, AMS remains dedicated to building healthcare capacity, supporting practical education, and elevating patient outcomes nationwide.
