AMS was proud to stand alongside the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness and fellow rescue partners NSRI, SAPS, and Lifesaving SA at today’s Festive Season Readiness Media Briefing at NSRI Station 18, Melkbosstrand. A joint sea rescue exercise showcased seamless coordination across land, sea, and air for one of the busiest times of the year.
Last festive season saw over 69,000 emergency incidents across the province. Our teams are prepared and coordinated for rapid response on land, sea, and air. But prevention starts with you.
Western Cape Minister of Health and Wellness, Mireille Wenger, said, “This festive season, we are asking our residents and visitors to celebrate responsibly. Every safe choice that you make helps to protect our healthcare system for those that need it most. The Western Cape’s emergency teams are prepared and ready to serve everyone this festive season.”
Celebrate responsibly. Watch kids near water. Don’t drink and drive. Stay hydrated. Take breaks on long trips.
Safe choices save lives. Let’s keep this festive season safe for everyone.
