My name is Lethabo Vacu, born and raised in Soweto, Johannesburg. Growing up, I was the kind of daughter who always changed their mind when it came to careers. However, things took a turn when I visited my aunt in Kempton Park. I found myself intrigued with every aircraft doing an approach overhead my aunt’s apartment and I told myself that’s what I want to do… I want to fly planes and I never looked back.
My experience at the AMS has been nothing but fruitful. I’ve learnt so much under the mentorship of the Captains who have shared their knowledge and experiences to bring out my full potential both in and outside of the cockpit. The last 21 months have been life changing for my flying career and I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity that was given to me.
