6 March 2025 – The Western Cape Department of Health & Wellness EMS/AMS rescue helicopter was dispatched to the Simonsberg Mountains to airlift an injured mountain biker. It was reported that the patient had fallen off his bike at the Simonsberg Mountain Bike Trails. The patient was airlifted in serious condition to Mediclinic Vergelegen for further medical treatment. Our thoughts and prayers are with the patient.
