Tourist rescued on Otter trail

25 Sep 2024 – Yesterday, the Oudtshoorn Western Cape Department of Health & Wellness EMS/AMS rescue helicopter airlifted a tourist who had fallen while hiking on the Otter trail. The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) & South African National Parks (SANParks) were the first responders on scene to assist the patient. The patient was extracted from the difficult terrain by helicopter and handed over in a stable condition for transportation by road ambulance to the nearest health facility for further medical care.
