Report from IPSS:

Earlier, IPSS Medical Rescue responded to reports of an armed robbery where shots had been fired.

On arrival of paramedics, it was found that following an armed robbery at a shop in the centre of Stanger, a father and son who owned the store had been shot by suspects.

The father sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported privately to a nearby hospital for further care.

The son sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was in critical condition.

IPSS Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilize the patient.

The AMS helicopter was activated to transport the patient to a facility in Durban for specialized care.

The suspects involved in this shooting were arrested by private security and members of the public while fleeing the scene.

All suspects were handed over to SAPS.
