Father & son rescued after being swept off rocks

13 August 2022: Late Saturday afternoon/early evening the Oudtshoorn Western Cape Department of Health EMS/AMS rescue helicopter airlifted a father & teenage son who was swept off the shoreline rocks at Robberg near Fountain Shack. The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) was alerted & responded to scene along with the local METRO EMS & Medlife Private Ambulance Service. Fading daylight & due to the nature of the patients injuries the aero-medical crew airlifted the patients to the landing zone & handed them over to the road ambulance crew for further treatment & transportation to hospital.
